Metal Motivation Monday

SYNOPSIS: 52 posters, every Monday of one year.

OVERVIEW_
Metal Motivitation Monday was a year-long personal illustration and poster series created throughout 2015. The project challenged me to design 52 original posters in 52 weeks, published every Monday and counting down from 52 to 1. Each one was inspired by a favorite heavy metal song, lyric, and/or band that was... motivitional. Every piece explored the energy, emotion, and storytelling behind the music through illustration, typography, and conceptual design.

TASK_
The goal of the project was to create something new every week—because of the rapid deadline each week, it was fast to sketch, concept, and illustrate these pieces after hours of my regular 9-to-5. This project pushed my creative range outside of regular client work. Each poster needed to capture the personality and emotional tone of a specific song or artist while remaining visually distinct within the larger series.

Beyond the artwork itself, the challenge also involved maintaining momentum and creative consistency over the course of an entire year — concepting, illustrating, designing, and promoting a new piece every single week without repetition or creative fatigue.

EXECUTION_
Released weekly under the hashtag #MetalMotivationMonday, the series was shared on the Metal Motiv website and also on Twitter, Facebook, and Dribbble, gradually building an international following among music fans, blogs, musicians, and industry professionals.

To support the ongoing release schedule, the project was treated like a living campaign. Over time, the collection evolved into a recognizable visual series that blended music, culture, illustration, and poster design into a cool personal project that got attention from some of my favorite bands!
