SYNOPSIS: Helping a wolf lead the pack and stand out amongst the crowd.
OVERVIEW_
Lobos 1707 is an award-winning Mexican tequila and mezcal brand founded in 2018, built on legacy, unity, and authenticity. The brand champions a genuinely unapologetic spirit—elevating the greater good of the pack. Lobos 1707 Añejo is crafted from 100% Blue Weber Agave, aged 18 months in American white oak, then finished in PX Sherry casks, blending Spanish Sherry heritage with Mexican tradition. The result is a smooth, savory profile made for sipping and elevated cocktails.
TASK_
Lobos 1707 brought Gusto Design Co. in for design production support across marketing and event materials—which quickly expanded as the brand entered a transition phase. The goal: modernize the wolf mark, strengthen label hierarchy and consistency, and elevate shelf presence to better reflect the quality of the liquid inside—without sacrificing existing brand equity or retail familiarity.
EXECUTION_
The mission was to elevate the brand and undomesticate the aesthetic. The wolf was refined into a sharper, modern emblem (rooted in the tactile embossed marks already present on Lobos glass) then carried through refreshed labels and bottle designs built to command attention on shelf.
The all-red bottle became a visual disruptor, while a blue-to-transparent gradient bottle created a premium reveal: tequila visible at the base, the etched wolf emerging through the liquid. Along the way, inconsistencies from prior label work were corrected, delivering a cohesive, production-ready system that carries Lobos 1707 confidently into its next chapter.
